Overworld Gaming Cryptocurrency

As an active participant in the Crypto space, I want to share my findings when I personally invest (or actively avoid investing) in alt-coins. The aim is to help you determine if an investment is right for you. Most coins have an impressive website and flashy graphics, but there is a lot to learn when you dig a little deeper.

Scroll to the bottom of the screen for the TLDR, or continue for a more in-depth analysis.

I was recommended to check out Overworld Gaming by a friend who had a previous positive experience with the team behind the coin. I jumped on the Telegram group and was warmly welcomed. At this point the channel was only boasting 100 or so members but seemed very active. I checked out the website (https://owgaming.co) and was impressed with the attention to detail often lacked in other projects.

The Overworld Gaming token has a real-world function. It will be used as currency for gaming tournament prizes, as well as selling NFT assets via the Overworld NFT Marketplace in the form of one-off artwork and skins to be used in-game. The potential for its use in the gaming world is significant, it will be great to see how else it will be adapted.

In addition, a marketing effort is underway to recruit professional gamers for teams to represent OWGaming. One gamer is already onboard and participated in a voice call in the Telegram chat. As this team grows it is expected the brand strength of OWGaming will grow as well.

At this point the token was being proposed for presale, with a date a couple weeks into the future. This was unusual to me as most coins I’d seen launch would rush, capitalizing on FOMO and first-in-best-dressed mentality. I appreciated the lack of manic-impulsiveness from the start. Tick.

I kept an eye on the chat and was encouraged that the team was actively answering questions verbosely. They were often on the voice chat actively engaging the community. I asked a few probing questions about their project and funding models, even offering them to tell me to mind my own business. The response was essentially “no, if you’re investing this IS your business” and was provided a detailed answer to my question. There was no smoke and mirrors, just a team being up front and keeping the community informed.

The Telegram chat was absolutely pumping just before presale, which was being hosted privately on their own website (this was to avoid bots from automatically buying and selling to manipulate the price). This was a slight concern for me as we would need to place a lot of trust in the team to convert the presale purchase to the actual OWGaming token.

To alleviate those concerns, the contract developer spent literally hours on the voice chat responding to every question, he was clearly quite knowledgeable, genuine and transparent with everything he discussed. One of the key details was a mechanism being put in place to stop people from dumping their coins early in the launch, only 5% of your investment could be sold within the first 7ish hours of launch.

Unfortunately this did not work as expected and the launch spooked the community. A big sell off occurred which sent a shockwave through investors who assumed they had been duped. As a result many people sold at a loss. But the team were relentless in their support, they fronted up to the community and made sure we were all fully informed on everything they were doing.

I didn’t expect this to be a token that would rocket to the moon after launch, but I didn’t expect it to lose value. But what was encouraging is that after the major sell-off, the token has been relatively stable price wise. This is positive for people who will compete in tournaments for OWGaming tokens, they can trust that the value is not hyper-volatile.

In the week since launch the team has been unwavering in their engagement. Still transparent, still pro-active with their promotions and highly confident in their plan. Their contract developer’s identity is not secret (it was revealed in a Twitch video he posted) which adds more confidence to the future of this project.

I’d recommend Overworld to anyone who is looking to join an active, friendly community with a realistic long term strategy. This isn’t a typical ‘shitcoin’ project where a lonewolf developer launches a coin, gets their payday and abandons ship. It is still very early, and I foresee major growth as the project enters phase 2 and executes on running tournaments and becoming a force in the gaming world.

Crypto can play a big role in gaming and I’m genuinely excited about what the Overworld team can do.

TLDR:

Overworld Gaming is a slick, functional token with a great team behind it. There has been some setbacks during the launch of the coin which resulted in a devaluation, but has since stabilized. This is definitely a coin to watch, or invest in as their road map has strong potential. This could be an excellent long term earner. There is a level of professionalism with OWGaming that has been sorely missed from many other coins.
